General Finishes Lamp Black Review

(Disclaimer: I was given products by General Finishes to try but the opinions are all my own!)
When we moved into our house a while back we inherited this desk. The only reason we did was because it is a BEAST and they didn’t want to worry about moving it. The desk is great but definitely needed a makeover.
So when General Finishes sent me some of their products I knew this was the perfect time to paint the desk. I LOVED how it turned out! It’s smooth and shiny and the LAMP BLACK color is gorgeous.

This was the first time I have used MILK PAINT. I either use chalk paint or go the traditional route of sanding, priming, and then painting. I have to tell you that I LOVE MILK PAINT! It was so easy to work with. I sanded before I applied the first coat just to even the surface out. I then used a extra fine sanding block for the in-between coats.

The finish was smooth and flawless! I didn’t want to distress this piece so I left it as is and it’s beautiful. It dries super fast so I was able to apply the General Finishes Top Coat in flat within hours. And the best part is we never had to move the desk! Brilliant!

Check out General Finishes website to see all their high quality products. I just saw that they had a new color, CORAL CRUSH, and I can’t wait to try it!
