Construction Birthday Party Decoration and Activity Ideas

Construction Birthday Party Decoration and Activity Ideas

In my last post, I shared with you the food that I made for Damon’s Construction Birthday Party. Today, I’m so excited to show you what I did for the decorations, party favor, and activities. It was a jammed packed party so the 1.5 hour party seemed to fly!!!

Construction Birthday Party Decoration and Activity Ideas
The table decorations were SO simple to put together since I already had everything in either the playroom or my garage! Ha! I had to stop myself from bringing in every tool, paint brush, sander etc. to decorate with. I guess that’s what you get with a DIYer for a mom 🙂

I loved how the front door turned out. Sorry the picture is not that great, the sun was BLARING right before the party. I brought down Damon’s “tool bench” from his room and taped cute pictures of him doing something construction-y!!… Read more

Construction birthday party food ideas. Use donuts for spare tires, milk for wet paint, pretzel sticks for nails, cheese balls for wrecking balls.

I can’t believe my baby turned 5 last week! Insert the tears! He is the sweetest little fireball I know. One of his current obsessions is garbage trucks and construction trucks. Before he started Kindergarten a few weeks ago we were outside on the driveway every Tuesday and Thursday morning waiting for the garbage truck to pass. Damon and the drivers have have even become cute friends. They have let him sit in the drivers seat to honk the horn and gave him a little garage truck toy. Talk about making this little boy’s dreams come true! He doesn’t want to watch the Disney channel, he wants to watch moving garbage trucks in action on YouTube.… Read more

No one is perfect…we ALL make mistakes!

No one is perfect...we all make mistakes.

A few years back I went to the zoo with a big group of girlfriends and our kids. There were about 30 of us in total exploring the zoo together. It was fun yet chaotic all at the same time. Moms were chatting and kids were running around. A normal typical outing, right? Well, my little guy was just as adventurous as he is now and wandered off by himself. It only took me a few minutes for me to realize he wasn’t by my side anymore. My heart jumped out of my chest as I was frantically calling out his name. He literally hadn’t been gone for more than 3 minutes when I found him INSIDE one of the exhibits! He had crawled under a little fence of the pasture where the animals were sitting and about 15 feet in front of him was a huge drop off.… Read more

My kids started school on Monday! Sniff..sniff…toe touch…toe touch! I certainly have mixed feelings about having ALL my kids in school. Yep, my little side kick is in Kindergarten. So part of me misses them like crazy and the other part is soaking up this quiet house for a few hours a day. This year is going to be the best year yet. My kids all lucked out in the teacher department. We are so excited.
I have always sent my kids to school on the first day with a little something special for their teachers.
This year I made these adorable berry baskets filled with mini blueberry muffins tucked inside. I also have them write or draw a little card for their new teacher to go along with it.
