This school year has really FLOWN by. It seems like yesterday we were buying new school clothes and backpacks. Though I’m a tiny bit sad the year is done, I must admit, I’m really excited about no homework and crazy schedules. All 3 of my kids have grown so much and worked so hard that I wanted to do something special for them to close out the year with a SMILE.
So I prepared a little surprise for them for when they arrived home from their last day of school.
A week before school was out I reached out to my family and asked them to write a little congrats letter, or something they love about my kids, or a fun memory from the year. All of their responses were so touching. I am so lucky to have a family who is sweet and supportive.
When we pulled up in the driveway they started giggling. They shouted “who’s birthday is it?” I said “those are for you guys and once you pop them you will find a surprise!” They jumped out of the car so fast!
We came inside and sat in a circle. One by one they each popped their balloons and read aloud their messages. It was so special. When we were done they all said they couldn’t wait for more balloons next year! This is a tradition we will be doing until they finish college 🙂

Sara, you are so sweet. Thanks!
I love this!!! This is such a fun tradition 🙂 I'll definitely need to remember this. Maybe my husband should do this for me at the end of each semester until we have kids 🙂
YES!!! He totally should! You deserve it 🙂
Very cute! I always have to have something fun for my kids, because my middle child has come home crying on the last day for two years now…she loves school and her friends 🙂
That is sad but so sweet she loves school so much. I'm sure whatever you do for your kiddos is AMAZING!!
