My kids started school on Monday! Sniff..sniff…toe touch…toe touch! I certainly have mixed feelings about having ALL my kids in school. Yep, my little side kick is in Kindergarten. So part of me misses them like crazy and the other part is soaking up this quiet house for a few hours a day. This year is going to be the best year yet. My kids all lucked out in the teacher department. We are so excited.
I have always sent my kids to school on the first day with a little something special for their teachers.
This year I made these adorable berry baskets filled with mini blueberry muffins tucked inside. I also have them write or draw a little card for their new teacher to go along with it.
Here’s what you need:
– a berry basket
– homemade or pre-packaged blueberry muffins
– baker’s twine
– tissue paper
– a “I am so “BERRY” lucky to have you as my teacher this year” sign.
Take your basket and line it with the tissue paper and fill it with the muffins. I wrapped the basket with baker’s twine to make it look like a small present. I took a 2×4 inch scrapbook paper and then printed out the saying “I am SO lucky to have you as my teacher this year!” on paper and glued it onto the scrap book paper. Then glue it to a large popsicle stick.
I hope this inspires you to send your kiddos with a little surprise for their teacher this year! Teachers sure deserve any love and attention because they do such a great job loving our kids.
