I know there are HUNDREDS of chocolate chip cookie recipes out there. And guess what? I’ve pretty much tried them all. I have been on a 7 year mission (I know that sounds dramatic but I’m not exaggerating) to find the ONE perfect recipe. I want my cookies to be soft and chewy. But I never found the perfect one until a few months ago.
I have the sweetest neighbor a few doors down from me. She is just one of those old souls that oozes with wisdom and kindness. She is constantly serving others and one night we were the lucky recipients of her kindness. She brought down a plate full of cookies and I think I downed them in 10 minutes! My poor kids didn’t even get to try them the next day…oops. I saw her the next next day and she wrote down her recipe for me.
SECRET #1: Room temperature butter! Set out your cubes in the morning on the day you are wanting to make cookies. NO MICROWAVE. I promise you..this is the secret!
SECRET #2: Right out of the oven, take your pan and pound it hard on your counter top. It’s pretty therapeutic! Smack a few times until the cookie flattens down.
Looks quite delicious! Thanks for linking up and sharing these great tips!
oh YUM!!! Thanks for sharing!
OH MY! Now I don't have to look for the perfect recipe myself! These look amazing! I know hubs is going to go nuts, he likes soft cookies! I hope I have time to make these tomorrow!
Ok, I think I'm ready to retry baking chocolate cookies again using your tips. I always fail miserably!
I am so glad to see this!! I have been "banging" my cookies for 35 years, and I always get perfect, chewy chocolate chip cookies. When people ask my secret, I tell them I bang the cookies, and they never believe me–no one ever tries it. Now I know I am not the only one who does this.
